The minimum deposit amount of any commodity is three (3) Metric tons

This varies from warehouse to warehouse, though a tariff is developed by the warehouse operator and approved by UWRSA
04. What is the period for storing maize?
This depends on the commodity and its shelf life. Proper quality management system are put in place under the warehouse receipt system to hold the commodity at least to its shelf life.
05. In case of fall in price or damage of produce at a warehouse, who is responsible for loss?
In case of price fall, the loss is the responsibility of the depositor (owner of the commodity) as most commodity values are as per the market prevailing values. The task is for the depositor to make market price intelligence and sell at a favorable price.
About damage, under the warehouse receipt system it is recommended to have the warehouse facilitators insured against any perils and in case of any unfortunate occurrence the insurance companies come in for recourse.
